LOOKBOOK

I really have to start taking photos of my outfits and get a bloomin lookbook account! I love this site and its one of my most visited. There are some really lovely outfits on here, and I love that most of it isn't designer, or even high street but a mis match of vintage, charity shops and random ebay buys. I find the people that post these outfits far more interesting and creative than girls dressed head to toe in designer clothes. Here are a few of my favourites at the moment.

Rokit

I absolutely adore the Rokit website! Its absolutely bursting with vintage lovelyness! I think I'm going to use my Christmas money to buy some stuff from there, I really want some acid wash Levi denim shorts for one and I found this gorgeous sweater on there too! Wondering if the 48 inch chest will completely swamp me as I'm a 34, I mean I'm all for loose fit but hmm.. Fingers crossed it doesn't go by the time I put money in my bank account, which at the moment has diddly squat in it..

Tis the season to be jolly

Christmas is very very nearly here! Presents are all under the tree, the roast is prepared for tomorrow and I can hear my Dad humming carols in the kitchen. Actually, humming to say the least, more like pretending he is performing a solo in the Albert hall. But hey, whatever makes him happy..
In the midst of the Christmas tidy up, I found lots of old postcards and photos in my room, which I have now fashioned into a new collage on my wall. I hate how I always have to change the layout/walls in my room because I get bored so easily. I'm quite into this collage though, it has various tickets, postcards, Vogue/Love rip outs and photos from an old album I found. There's one of my M & D that is an absolute BEAUT, they probably wouldn't think so though..

Wish list

There are so many things I would like for Christmas. These are some of them. Now there is a strong possibility I will get the Hunter boots and the perfume, as I have been asking for a looong while. However, the camera is not looking good. But hey ho, there is Christmas money for that!
I love Christmas, not just because of the presents, in fact, not even mostly because of the presents. I just love the lights and the carols and playing games with the family. I wouldn't have it any other way. Some of my friends are working Christmas day, because of double pay and all that. No way would I ever agree to work and not be able to sit at home gorging on Roses and watching good old Home Alone. And the snow has made it even more Christmassy.... :)

Cable Knit

Looook at my new (or old?) cable knit cardi. I got it from a charity shop in my village for £3.50. Its so warm and cosy and I love the brown buttons and the fact that it isn't really pale and has a sort of speckled look. I have discovered I'm pretty bad at self portraits, especially as I'm not totally sure how to use my DSLR properly yet. Asked my lovely boyfriend if he'll take some photos of me sometime, so I can put them up here.
Also, I want a Lomography Diana camera so I can take vintage look photos. Pretty please Santa?

Give me your clothes?

I absolutely love Mary Kate Olsen's style, messy and nonchalant is the way to dress! They both have this sort of pixie like elegance that can pull off pretty much anything. I think that Mary Kate Olsen, Alexa Chung and Peaches Geldof are my favourite style icons. Not so sure I'm into the whole never eating thing though..

Johnny Flynn

I had the great pleasure of seeing Mr Johnny Flynn last night in Exeter. It was a fantastic gig with really good supports from Melodica, Melody and Me and Basia Bulat. Search these two because they are ones to watch!
However, as I was watching the gig I realised certain things that are apparent at almost every gig/festival,

1. There is always some REALLY REALLY tall person that decides it would be fun to stand right in front of you so you are staring at their bum.
2. There is always a very drunk person that shouts out inappropriate things in the silent bits.
3. There is always a weird person that dances as if in a trance, eyes closed, whilst moving their hands in a weird way and shouting out random words oblivious to the fact that everyone is watching.
4. There are always groups of girls that take photos of themselves in front of you so there are flashes going off at all angles.

But hey, Flynn made it all worthwhile
This is my old favourite, The Box, he waited until the very end to play this - I was a happy girl

♥ ebay

I am possibly the happiest girl right now! My friend told me that she bought all her Benefit make up from ebay, and so I decided to have a look, seeing as normal Benefit prices are well out of my price range. I ended up buying 3 items brand new for £20, the high beam highlighter, dandelion blush, and lemon aid eye primer. When I went on the boots website I found those three would have come to £60!
SO PLEASED :)

Union Jack

I was just browsing in Tesco yesterday, as you do, and found this mug, now I dont tend to buy crockery but this was the only one left, £2.50 and really pretty. I have decided I want a whole set of stuff in this design for uni!

I also got some really nice heart print tights from tesco for £1.50, they're less thin than the Topshop ones so they wont ladder as easily, and they're so much cheaper. God bless Tesco!

Beauties

My three favourite vintage scarves. The red one and the light floral one are stolen from mummy, she has quite a collection of lovely things like this that I have gradually re owned (without her noticing) and the grey floral one I found in a charity shop just down from my college in Plymouth. Its a sort of chiffon fabric and was £2.50! Most charity shops in Plymouth are full of crap but this one tends to have lots of genuine vintage stuff, it's the only one around and down the street from an art college so things tend to disappear quite quickly!

This is my FAVOURITE ever bag, it's just beautiful and was again stolen from mummy. She likes it back now and again but its effectively mine. The beading is gorgeous and people always ask where I got it, I'm usually pretty smug because nobody else can buy it, heh heh heh..
